Apple Likely to Announce next iPhone, and maybe a new, cheaper iPhone, on September 10
If you’ve been waiting with bated breath regarding the latest release in the iPhone lineup, there’s a good chance to believe that on September 10, Apple will fulfill your long-desired wish for something new.
According to AllThingsD, a member of Wall Street Journal’s digital network, sources revealed that September 10th will be a new Apple product announcement date. AllThingsD has a history of accurately reporting on announcement dates like this, so this reported date is likely 100% accurate.
There’s no telling what the new product announcements will be, but it’s heavily believed that since September falls within the confines of when Apple has typically announced new iPhones, that’s what we should expect to see. If it is a new iPhone, it will be the first time in a few years since anyone has had an inkling of an idea as to what it would look like, since things have been kept under tight wraps lately. Maybe Tim Cook’s comments about Apple “doubling down on security” are being evidenced as true right before our eyes.
There is one possibly true rumor about what Apple might reveal with the iPhone lineup, and that’s a cheaper, plastic molded iPhone. This would be a departure from the company’s previous offerings of older models of the phone at a cheaper price. This cheaper iPhone would in turn cater to the demands of a growing population of low-cost market users without harming Apple’s profit margins, which the company so highly values.
One other caveat to consider is that Tim Cook has in the past expressed an interest in wearable technologies, so maybe we can all enjoy a little pipe dream of a new product release in addition to a new iteration of the iPhone. I mean, we can all at least dream, right?
