At Long Last iPhone comes to T-Mobile, iPhone 5 will sell for $99 no contract
If they’ve won you over with that leather-clad vixen on the motorcycle, you’ll be glad to hear that T-Mobile is finally getting the iPhone… The arrival of Apple’s smartphone on T-Mobile’s network means that the device is now available through all national US cellular carriers; however, T-Mobile’s deal is different. They’re selling Apple’s iPhone for $99, and without the hassle of a lengthy contract.
It’s just unfortunate that T-Mobile is getting the iPhone at a time when it turns out everybody already has one… Okay, that’s not accurate, but T-Mobile’s late arrival does mean that the availability of a $99 iPhone 5 is a little less exciting than it would have been at an earlier date. For those who opt for the $99 iPhone 5, T-Mobile will have them pay off the rest of the device by $20 per month over the next two years (if they choose to stay that long, which is totally up to the individual and not dictated by a contract). T-Mobile iPhone users will also enjoy support for LTE and HSPA+, along with “high-definition voice calls.”
Other than Apple’s latest and greatest, there’s also the option of getting the iPhone 4S or iPhone 4 from T-Mobile, and those devices will sell for $69 and $15. Pretty sweet deals if you don’t mind being a few years behind.
Here’s CEO John Legere on the long-awaited announcement:
“This is an important day for people who love their iPhone but can’t stand the pain other carriers put them through to own one. We feel their pain. I’ve felt the pain. So we’re rewriting the rules of wireless to provide a radically simple, affordable iPhone 5 experience—on an extremely powerful network.”
