Do you ever wish you could see the most exotic and gasp-inducing places around the globe? Of course you do, everybody does. But not everybody has the chance to gallivant around the world and take in the sights. That changes a bit today with TourWrist, though. You see, TourWrist is 360 panoramic app that allows you to see where other people have been by stitching together carefully taken photos to create an immersive, 3D experience of wherever that person was.

But where TourWrist really shines is in its ability to see the work of others as if you were in that scene in real life. That is, when you rotate or turn your iPhone or iPad, the screen moves as if it were your very own eyes, giving an incredibly realistic, “practically there in person” phenomenon. With TourWrist’s built in social network of other people’s work that you can browse, you can really draw some…(More)

Ion Racer

Ion Racer Universal (Optimized for both the iPad and iPhone) (4 stars with 405 Ratings)

Ion Racer is all about the non-stop thrills, as you’re given a super futuristic and powerful speeder to travel through various levels and tracks. All the while, you have to collect little balls of ion for extra points, and either avoid or crash head on into obstacles that either speed you up or slow you down. The game is controlled by your device’s accelerometer, so however you move it, your speeder will move similarly. The graphics are crystal clear and the gameplay is a joy to behold.

With the election coming up, a lot of people are either tuning in or tuning out, depending on how much they can stomach the dog and pony show of it all. Some people have a thing against politicians as greedy money grubbers, and today’s free game for the iPad and iPhone is one centered on that very notion.

It’s called TITUS, and it’s an interesting little app. You play the role of Titus, an agoraphobic watchmaker who wants to become president of Wealland. This dark political campaign simulator will have you either laughing or shaking your head in mock disgust at the depths you have to sink in order to keep campaigning. It contains 5 mini 3D arcade style games, an extensive campaign mode, an election mode that’s a little bit more simple, and tons of bonuses and achievements to be won.

Roman Backgammon is a game in which modern backgammon is rooted, and this app provides a similar experience, but one still unique enough to be considered different and divergent from its progeny. It’s actually a bit of a more simple approach to Backgammon, but with a classic Roman game board with dice designed to take you back to the ancient time. The app bills itself as a great way to introduce children or new players to the modern equivalent, and you can either play against the computer (three difficulty setting), do pass and play on your device, or challenge someone in the Game Center.

Do you remember Gigapet and Tomagotchi? If you were a kid of the nineties, of course you do. Well today’s free app for the iPhone and iPad is called Hachi, and it harkens back to the days of classic electronic pets.

Hatchi starts you off with an egg of what will eventually become a virtual monster, and it’s up to you to take care of it. Your pet will go through multiple growth stages and you’ll have to make sure it’s cared for, fed, played with, and just taken care of in order for it to continue growing properly. Each monster will develop differently, as it all depends heavily on the quality of care provided for it. The more well adjusted your Hatchi is, the smarter and more independent it will be.
