Like I’ve said many times before in this space, I’m not much of a musician. That doesn’t mean that I don’t want to learn, though, and thankfully today’s app for the iPhone is one that can help me dust off my barely-used guitar and start gaining some knowledge. It’s called Star Scales Pro and it’s free for a limited time.

Star Scales Pro helps you learn the ever-fear inducing scale charts that make a lot of new musicians quite nervous. The app teaches you to master scale patterns, improve speed and accuracy, and practice to build up necessary muscle memory. Each scale comes with fingering and note names on all fretboards for you to understand more easily. The app is wonderfully designed and easy to comprehend, making this deal quite the steal.

We have a very popular game that’s gone free for you on the iPad and iPhone, and it’s a doozy. It’s called 7th Guest, and it’s free for a limited time in the App Store.

7Th Guest centers around you, a mysterious entity known only as Ego, and your objective is to find out more about who you are, all while traversing the terrifying and sprit-filled house of Old Man Stauf. There are tons of clever puzzles to figure out that help you progress, matching your wits with the house’s entities and figures who would rather you not complete your objectives. The game sports incredibly rich graphics and a simple yet intriguingly challenging experience. This is a bargain, but the deal won’t last long.

We already brought you 7th Guest as a free app today, but we are going to take that a step further and tell you that the spin off game, 7th Guest: Infection is free for the iPad for a limited time.

Old Man Stauf is up to his tricks again, this time you can take to the game with a friend or go up against the madman himself in a world of puzzle and mind bending riddles. Your objective is to discover some of Stauf’s games and toys, but it’s said that some of the objects are imbued with his germs and microbes, which has led to some people going stark raving mad before. The game, as does its predecessor, sports amazing graphics that take full advantage of the iPad’s display. Gameplay itself is a delight and easy to get a grasp on.

Time Ducks attempts to address the age old question of why did (insert animal) cross the road? You see, it’s not just chickens this game wonders about, but ducks and so many other animals. You objective is to control the animals safely across a busy intersection without getting smushed. Oh, and you also control time. If this is all sounding pretty meta, it is. The game is wrapped in a classic 8-bit style veneer and is fairly easy to get the hang of, but still challenging.

I’m a big fan of Pac Man, and I suppose a lot of you are as well. That’s why today’s game is an interesting one, as it’s a bit of a sendup of the old classic. It’s called Where’s My Candy, and it’s currently free for the iPhone for a limited time.

Where’s My Candy starts off with a cute little panda who have a hankering for some delicious treats, and it’s your job to help him collect the tasty morsels. You’re given a maze like board with treats spread throughout, and you have to go around and collect them all, all while avoiding enemies that would do you harm at the same time. Some treats give you special abilities and powers, but you still need to be careful. The game is simple and fun to play.
