This app will allow you to choose from hundreds of high resolution images built with the iPhone specifically in mind, and many images look gorgeous in their own right. Most apps of this nature will require an internet connection in order for you to download, but Home Screen Paper Offline actually has every image built into the app so you can skip the wait time. A bit of warning, though: this causes the app download size to be rather large, clocking in at 344 MB, but that’s a small price to pay for the convenience of being able to customize your phone anywhere you might be.

Slidix is a scramble game in a league of its own. Remember those scrambled tile games we used to play as kids that gave you a photo when all finished? That’s what Slidix is, only on your iOS device and with options to turn photos on your device into the puzzle itself. The result is a personalized photo puzzle that is fun to play and then look at while you reminisce about when that photo was taken. The controls are as easy as if the puzzle were physically in your hands, and the interface is easy on the eyes and pleasing to interact with.

Monsters Ate My Condo is a puzzle action game full of crazy action with even crazier colors and gameplay. Monsters have taken to the city to go on a rampage, and the only way to keep them from destroying everything in sight is to continuously build and design residential high rises for them to devour. Match colored floors with intuitive swipes and gesture controls in order to keep things going, and you’ll keep the monsters satisfied long enough. There are boy Endless and Timed attack modes to play, along with Game Center support and gorgeous graphics.

Whale Trail

Whale Trail Universal (Optimized for both the iPad and iPhone) (4.5 stars with 35879 Ratings)
$0.99 → Free

Whale Trail is really the type of a game you have to play for several tries before you become completely hooked on it. The game concept is simple. You control a fantastic flying whale in the sky, collecting colorful bits as fuel to get you staying afloat. During your flight, you’ll need to avoid those dangerous black clouds with precise touch and tap whale controls. Unless you have buffed up your cloud resistance all the way to the maximum, one contact with those dark clouds usually means instant death. Because of this setup, you will probably have to play this game over and over again, gaining gold to boost your whale statistics and power ups. Each time you play, the levels are randomly generated. And the more you play, you’ll probably get more hooked on it as different level setups make Whale Trail amazingly fun. Try flying all the way to the top of the sky and dive downwards within a tunnel surrounded by dark clouds. It is quite an experience.

Pollen Count HD

Pollen Count HD iPad Only (4 stars with 49 Ratings)

Pollen Count is a line drawing game centered around nature’s misfits: those pesky, but ultimately necessary bees. The premise is that you have to guide a host of bees back to the hive via drawing a line after collecting pollen from flowers of vibrant colors, all while doing your best to not collide with fellow bees or run into birds, spiders, and even zombees. The result is a beautiful and fun strategy game that’s full of life and color with a simple enough gameplay that anyone could grasp it quickly.
