Check out this Week’s Hot New Games! True Skates, Sonic Jump, Walking Dead Episode 3, Symphonic, and More
Another weekend is upon us, and in case you missed the hot new games that popped up in the App Store over the last few days, here’s a rundown… From zombies to orchestras, there should be something for everyone, so check out the trailers below and pick your next download.
True Skate Universal
(4 stars with 4228 Ratings)
App Store’s Editor Choice of the week is True Skates! This skateboarding simulation game touts realistic physics and touch controls that mimics a real skateboarding experience. Use your fingers instead of your feet to control the movements of a skateboard in a virtual skatepark. You also can perform tons of skateboarding tricks. Read our full (5-stars!) Review for more on True Skates.
Sonic Jump™ Universal
(4.5 stars with 8260 Ratings)
Sonic has been known to pop up in the App Store pretty frequently, so something tells me Sega must be doing pretty well with these releases… But Sonic Jump is the first original iOS title we’ve seen from the Sonic franchise, so fans will definitely want to check this platformer out for $1.99.
Walking Dead: Episode 3
Walking Dead: The Game Universal
(3.5 stars with 23031 Ratings)
Episode 3 of Walking Dead: The Games is here. Enjoy more zombie cinematic adventure in this episode as an $4.99 in-app purchase to the original game. If you haven’t played the iOS version of Walking Dead before, be sure to read our 5-star review of episode 1 to decide whether or not you should join the walking dead adventure.
Stupid Zombies 2
Stupid Zombies 2 Universal
(4.5 stars with 971 Ratings)
It’s zombies and physics, two of the App Store’s greatest mainstays… It’s also a sequel, so if you played the first Stupid Zombies, you know what you’re in for. This shooter features 300 new levels and visual improvements. All that can be yours for 99 cents.
Symphonica for iPad
SYMPHONICA for iPad iPad Only
(4 stars with 561 Ratings)
Square Enix isn’t a studio known for its musical prowess, but Symphonica presents a combination of music and rhythm gameplay that challenges you to conduct an orchestra on your tablet. This might be worth a try, but it’ll have to be pretty great to be worth the $14.99 it costs to unlock the full game.

The real estate industry in the App Store hasn’t taken any hits from our economic issues, seeing as this is the third installment in the Build-A-Lot franchise. This one takes the whole shebang over to Europe and presents new time-management challenges, and fans ready for a third round can check it out for free!
Save Them All
Save Them All Universal
(4.5 stars with 49 Ratings)
So what’s Chillingo up to this week? Looks like Save Them All is an auto-runner that will have you trying to save the world. The opposition includes things like aliens and meteors, and you can get thrown in the fray for 99 cents.
Hidden Runaway Universal
(3 stars with 55 Ratings)
Pendulo Studios is out with another hidden object adventure game, and this one features characters named Briand and Gina who first appeared in Runaway: A Road Adventure. This one is $2.99, and Pendulo has hit homeruns in the App Store before, so it might be worth a look.
