Facebook, others ready to launch redesigned apps suited to iOS 7 on the Inside and Out
iOS 7 is currently taking the world by storm, and it looks like more than a few app developers were well-prepared. Much has been said of the radically different appearance of iOS 7, but that’s only half the reason developers have taken this occasion to update their apps in accordance with Apple’s new standards… From edge-to-edge graphics to features supporting AirDrop, many of your favorite apps might be set to receive updates of much substance.
Take Facebook, for example. The social networking app some of us love to hate has gotten enhanced navigation along the bottom, as well as some noteworthy design tweaks that feel more in-sync with the rest of your phone running iOS 7. For the most part, the visual changes found in the new Facebook appear to come from new colors and a handful of elements the developers were able to make disappear.
Some of the more powerful tools being made available to developers through iOS 7 include the already-mentioned Airdrop, iBeacon support for Bluetooth, new Map Kit, high frame rate video capture, a Sprite Kit, and game controller support.
As always, we’ll be sure to tip you off as soon as developers leverage these new iOS features in noteworthy ways. But first things first–make sure to get iOS 7 on your devices today so you’re all ready to receive the wave of coming updates!
