It’s June, and with summer finally upon us, your gaming time with your iPhone/iPad will likely take a hit as you drag yourself outside to bask in the light of that thing they call the sun… That’s a good thing, really, but it’s also a good reason to make the most of what precious little gaming time you do get. And that’s why we’re bringing you our picks from this week’s hottest new games in the App Store! Read on for prices, details, and trailers.
Dungeon Village iPhone OS
(4.5 stars with 763 Ratings)
“Welcome to an epic RPG world in which the town you build can grow from humble hamlet into a mecca for the land’s most ambitious adventures!” That’s the goal—but monster attacks will stand in your way.
This newest Kairosoft release will have you build a popular adventure town to entice new adventurers. Have the adventurers explore dungeons for new treasures and equipments. Battle monsters and dragon bosses. Research for new magical weapons and spellbooks with the big cauldron. You even get to change the jobs for each adventurer as they collect metals for their heroic deeds. Combining RPG elements and Kairosoft style gameplay is definitely a good idea!

Universal (Optimized for Both the iPad and iPhone)
( stars with Ratings)
Here’s a platform that looks to be high in style and action. You play as Belle, a cute little purple creature that’s out to “bring an end to the reign of the machine.” Besides the great visuals, there’s jumping and lots of guns—what else do you need?
Dead City PLUS iPhone OS
(4 stars with 19 Ratings)
With most of the human race annihilated by a nuclear explosion, your role as the last human survivor is to take out zombies by whatever means necessary. There’s a smorgasbord of vehicles and weapons. The whole gory side-scroller can be yours for $2.99, but there is also a free version with IAP you can get here.
Catapult King Universal (Optimized for Both the iPad and iPhone)
(4.5 stars with 12136 Ratings)
Here’s a take on the whole knocking-things-over puzzler genre that might be worth a look. Catapult King costs just a buck, and it’s the unique perspective that makes it stand out from other games centered on destruction. Hopefully the gameplay ends up being as much fun as the trailer looks.
Tiny Troopers Universal (Optimized for Both the iPad and iPhone)
(4.5 stars with 6304 Ratings)
Sure, they’re tiny, but these little soldiers still mean business… Command a trio of highly-trained troopers as you fight through the campaign. The game features 30 missions spread across 3 chapters and costs $2.99.
