It’s True! Apple Confirms iPhone 5 Media Event for September 12th!
Well, we’ve been talking about September 12th for months, and now Apple has gone and made it official. The next big announcement from the maker of the iPhone and iPad will be made next Wednesday at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
In signature fashion, Apple is withholding all the details until the event itself; in fact, the invitation says nothing more than, “It’s almost here.” For those of us who have been talking about the 12th for a good many months, we feel pretty safe in assuming that what’s “almost here” is the iPhone 5—especially when you take a close look at the invitation and notice that the shadow cast by the “12” comes out looking quite a bit like the top part of the number 5. Think we’re reading too much into this? It wouldn’t be the first time an Apple invitation held more than first meets the eye.
So, feel free to begin counting down the hours until 10 a.m. PST next Wednesday. This event seemingly fulfills the media-concocted prophesy that Apple will unveil an iPhone 5 later this month. Stay tuned to find out if those rumors about larger screens, smaller dock connectors, near-field communications, and 4G LTE will hold true.
