Top 5 Ways To Get Your Pocket MMORPG On This Labor Day!
Ah, Labor Day weekend! A great weekend to watch some college football, eat BBQ with friends, and get in one last day off before autumn begins. And if you’re a dedicated iOS MMORPG player, the long weekend is also a good excuse to get in some extra time in your favorite shared world. Here are the top 5 ways to get your game on this Labor Day weekend!
1. Try to climb the leaderboards in Order & Chaos Online
It’s true: PvP arenas are the new addiction for Order and Chaos Online players everywhere. The fast, brutal 4v4 and trickier 2v2 battles are a great way to meet new people (and smash their faces in), earn new gear (by totally pwning for those Arena Points rewards), and hone your abilities (because your current spec sucks and you know it).
It’s also a great way to earn some bragging rights by climbing to the top of the 2v2 and 4v4 leaderboards. Honestly, the leaderboards are probably the single best reason to PvP. And of you can get into the top 50, or even the top 25, you’ve got to feel pretty darn good about yourself. So why not spend some of your time this weekend trying to climb to the top!
Personally, I have trouble staying above 1500 on the leaderboards. I hope I can finish out the weekend with a more respectable ranking than I’ve started it with. Guess I gotta respec my mage again!
2. Level up an alt
Regardless of your preferred MMORPG, there’s no doubt that once you reach the game’s level cap you’ll want to create a second character. But if you’re like me, you don’t always find time to both tend to your primary character and give that alt the leveling TLC it needs to reach endgame. So why not give some of that extra time this weekend over to that secondary character? In fact, why not try to make a run for the level cap?
This is a good idea in any MMORPG, but if you’re a player in either Pocket Legends (Free) or Star Legends (Free) , it’s an especially good idea. Both games are offering up a Double XP weekend through Labor Day.
3. Check out the new and improved Celtic Heroes
Celtic Heroes (Free) is the one MMORPG I keep promising myself I’ll find more time to play, but I never do. As we’ve reported previously, Celtic Heroes has been making some big changes over the summer. Every week it seems that the devs are making some sort of addition or adjustment to the game. With extra free time over the holiday, now is a great time to sample this title if you haven’t already. It’s an especially good time, since some of the summer events are about to finish. I know that I’ll be logging some time this weekend!
4. Leave a review on iTunes
Do you love your favorite MMORPG? Have you reviewed it on iTunes yet? If not, why not do it this weekend?
Believe it or not, developers actually read the reviews on iTunes. Devs know that a low star rating in the App Store can be the death of an app. In contrast, a lot of praise can really motivate a developer to work hard on new content. By writing a review, you can not only help bolster the rating of your favorite title, but you also get a foot in the door for future complaints. Find something you dislike in a future update? Revise your review and nail down that star rating. Then, when they fix it in the next release, reward them with 5 stars again.
5. Try something new!
Finally, a holiday weekend like this is always a good time to try something new. While many of us are primarily one-game MMORPGers, there’s nothing wrong with diving into a new game every now and then, just to see if the grass is really greener somewhere else. If it’s a freemium game, so much the better — you’re not out any cash to try a few levels.
Personally, I’ve got my eye on Plan X, the MMORPG for Evil Geniuses (Free) . There’s something about it that’s been calling to me. Think I’ll go download it right now!
